Design DIY 101 is a step-by-step, confidence-building course led by internationally experienced & qualified Interior Designer Karen Mackay—sharing decades of design and project management experience—built around her easy-to-follow framework, 'The Seven Layers of Design™'. Created to help you successfully design and manage your own home project with clarity and confidence.

Welcome to the first Design It Yourself™ Course - Design DIY 101
A practical interior design course for real homes, real budgets, and real renovations. Unlock your creativity, increase your know-how!  This group course will include 7 modules, offering live online Zoom presentations where you will have an opportunity to ask questions in real time. A digital 'Design DIY 101 Workbook' and 7 Module Presentations will be emailed upon signing up for the course, allowing you to follow along and make notes as the course progresses. By the end of the course, you should have a clear concept of the design process and how it relates to your individual project! A concrete plan for your design choices and inspiration on how to implement them.

Modules to include:

The Seven Layers of Design ™ - 7 Modules (1 hour 15 mins each):

• Ceilings
• Walls
• Floors
• Architectural Detail
• Casegoods & Furniture
• Lighting
• Home Decor & Styling

Modules will last 45-60 minutes each with an additional 15 mins at the end of each presentation for students to ask questions in real time.

Courses will run when there are 3 participants or more. If less than 3 people have signed up then you will have the option to do 1:1 or 2:1 private courses in an edited time format.
